Adding Equipment to the Inventory
There is a link at the end of the equipment inventory page labeled, "Add a new item(s) to equipment inventory". Following this link presents a form where the following data may be entered for the equipment.
Equipment Specification Fields
- Description
- A description of the equipment, such as "Black keyboard". The description field is mandatory.
- ID
- A unique ID assigned to the equipment, such as "EQID999". The ID field is mandatory, and must be unique in the inventory.
- Serial Number
- The unique serial number for the equipment. The serial number field is mandatory, and must be unique in the inventory.
- Model
- The model for the equipment, such as "Pavilion dv7". The model field is optional.
- Purchase Date
- The date the equipment was purchased.
- Purchase Cost
- The purchase cost for the equipment.
- Category
- A drop-down list containing the equipment categories set up in the configuration section.
- Manufacturer
- A drop-down list containing the manufacturers set up in the configuration section.
- Vendor
- A drop-down list containing the vendors set up in the configuration section.
- Funding
- A drop-down list containing the funding sources set up in the configuration section.
- Other
- An optional field to store other information about the equipment.
- Active
- A checkbox that indicates whether this equipment will be immediately available to patrons. If inactive, the equipment may be made active at a later date.
- Comments
- An optional field to store general comments about the equipment.
Select "Add to inventory and continue" to continue entering equipment in the inventory after filling out the form. Select "Add to inventory" to enter a single piece of equipment and return to the equipment inventory.
